Echolocation

Echolocation, also called bio sonar that is used by several kinds of animals. Echolocating animals emits calls out that ricochets back to to the animal now it knows how big and how far the object is. Echolocation is used for navigation and for hunting in various environments. Some blind people may have learnt how to use echolocation by either using a clicking device or making sound by mouth. Bats,  mammals, , a few birds, dolphins and toothed whales use echolocation. Some of the bats make the sound through their noses.

There was a teenage boy named Ben that had learnt how to use echolocation by making a clicking sound from his mouth. One day Ben and his mum were driving past a big building when Ben said to his mum "Mum can you see that big building out there?" His mum replied "Can you see that big building out there?". Ben had noticed that the sound in the car had changed when they went past the big building. Now Ben knows how to ride a bike and he knows how to shoot a ball in a hoop.

So in conclusion Echolocation is used by animals, marine mammals and some humans to locate objects in their surroundings. Echolocation is like a replacing eyes for people that are blind.

In the assembly we found out that our school topic for this term is I like to move it move it. First the assembly started by Mr Burt talking to us about the new topic and showed us that it took 16 balloons to lift a little New York taxi cab. All the teachers were dressed up, there were 5 different groups of teachers the groups were team 1,2,3,4 and 5.

Firstly the team 1 group got ready to do there things it was about the team 1 classes going to the zoo.
The teachers put together a little video to show how the zoo keepers look after the animal by feeding them and keeping them safe. Then it was time for team 2 to get ready there act was about flying and how flying things work. Team 3 was about colours and how colours reflect off things and how a rainbow is made.

Team 4 was about how things float and what happens to the water in front of a boat and what will float and what will sink. Then it was team 5 there act was about sound they all had something different that made different sounds. Then the prefects ran down the middle of the hall and cut the string to all the helium balloons.
