Aussie Rule

Guess what room fifteen have been doing? We have been learning the skills required to play Aussie Rules.

The equiqment uesd to play is a little rugby ball,fore big post and a ovel.The name for the little ball is called kiwi kick.

I like the drop punt because it is just like a drop kick but it does not hit the ground.I like it because I can aim for my team mate to get the ball. It was unpredictable when i kicked the ball and it went some where else but not to him

Soccer

When the two soccer teams went to the soccer tournament the year five got to watch the year six's play anther school but sadly they lost the first game. Then it was time for the year five's to play another school and the year five's won. The game was Pt England vs Glen Ines. The year five's came fifth in the tournament.

Badminton

This week we went to badminton. We played lots of games at badminton. Some of the games that we played were that we had to hit the shuttle three times and then hit the shuttle underneath our legs. If we missed it then we had to try it again till we got it and could do it lots of times. When someone lost we had to rotate so all of us got a turn. The winner got to vs the next people. If no one lost then we all had to hop off so that people could have turns.

When we went to hit the shuttle we had to have our rackets ready so we didn’t miss it. If we didn’t have our rackets ready then we would miss the shuttle, most of the time I had my racket ready.

I had to rush and hit the shuttle and when I hit it I tripped up but when I did I got back up fast and won. My friend rushed so that we would not be out. He hit the shuttle hard and it went over the net and we won.

It was tricky trying not to lose to good people. We didn’t lose because we were good at badminton. Me and my friend were getting tired so we lost the last game to good people.

Snowy conditions

In the snow people like to make snow angels. The snow was the perfect thickness to make them yesterday after the cold polar blast. If it snowed on your lawn, would you make snow angels?

Multimedia

This week we have been doing some multimedia tasks. I had to animate someone kicking the ball and make it go through the goal post. Now I have to animate people passing the ball. When I finish that I have to animate someone kicking the ball and three other people catching it. Two throw the other one up to catch the ball.

Basketball

On Wednesday we went to basketball practise in the hall with room 14. We all got in to groups of threes and found a spot to play passing the ball around like bouncing the ball to each other and chest passing. I was dibbling the ball to the goal and shot at it and got it in.

When we were versing another team we got the ball and Frankie shot the ball in and we won. Another team came up against us and we won again, then we had to hop off because we were to good. Next we had to play the girls and we won again but the girls were a but harder because they play netball.

When it was time to go home we got to shoot to see if we could get it in to the goal and when it was my turn I go the ball and got it in. After we finished that I had my turn and it hit off the backboard and went in to the hop but when I tried it again I missed and I went to riverside.

Swimming at the pools

When we were walking to the pools there were lots of rustling plastic bags because the wind was blowing hard. Room 15 and 17 got to the pools and went inside and the smell of chlorine came up our noses.

We went to get changed and have our shower and we waited for Miss Garden to say get in to the pool and wet your hair. So we all jumped into the pool and faced Miss Garden and listened so we would know what to do when we swim to the end of the pool.

We had to swim to one side and back and wait for Miss Garden to come to the side that we are on. I got back up and had stinging eyes so I had to use goggles because my eyes were sore.

Term 1 Movie

My Tower

In room fifteen with Mr Marks we made tower’s. We had to use newspaper and sellotape. We had to work as a team.

When it was small it stood up but when it was tall it would fall over. It was hard trying to make it stand up. The big tower fell over all the time.

We made tripod legs to try and hold it so it would not fall over but it didn’t work. When we finally got it to stand up it was small. Some of the other teams towers were small. It was so hard tyring to make it stand up.

Rugby

On Thursday and Tuesdays we have rugby I like playing rugby. But before I didn’t I don’t know why to play rugby but I learnt how to play rugby so I like to play with my friends on the fled. We like to play rugby ever day because it is fun playing rugby and we get trys ever time we play we get to tackle people but if you get a high tackle it will be a penelty and it will be the other terms ball and they will just get one try.

Year 5 and 6 camp

Last week at camp my group went to squash first and I win all my games. I was smash the ball to the wall and know one hit the ball back because it was to fast for them to hit the ball. The ball was to fast and bouncy and on one game I lost because I hit the ball under the line and of you hit it under the line you will be out.When the ball hit the back wall I will hit it to the wall with the red line on it and wait for the ball to come back so,I can hit the ball hard so I can get people out but it was time to go to the YMCA we played lots of games at the YMCA we played bull rush.

Earthquake

There was a earthquake in Christchurch and there were lots of people were feeling devastation and they felt sorry for lost ones. All there homes were destroyed people were crying . We feel sad for the lost ones that pass away and also felt sorry for the famil’s. The earthquake destroyed all they in there car’s. They wanted to live in there home’s.he house and the bulidings and the people could’not live in there home’s, they had to live in tent’s

Baseball with Cola

On Thursday we went to baseball with Cola. He told us what to do when you catch the ball and hit it. When we were fielding I was backstop and I got lots of people out. Some people got a home run and some people got out on base one. I felt happy because I had lots of fun at baseball. I was in team Pepsi and the other team was call team Cola. I had to be focused to catch the ball so people don’t get home runs. When I hit the ball off the tee it went far but I only got to base one. I was cheering for my team but it was a hard game because the other team was good. My favourite put was when I hit the ball far.

Softball

This year in softball I made it in for the school and my mum was happy.We have training today on the bottom field. I am the pitcher for the team I am quite good at it.

Going To The Pools

In the holidays I went to the pools with my nana. I sunk, floated and looked in the water. It was a hot sunny day when I went to the pools. In Glen Innes pools, the deep pool is cold and the others are hot. I played passing the ball rugby, in the races pools and I won the races.
